Diplomáticos Ammunition Ex Phoenicia Cigar

The Diplomáticos Ammunition Ex Phoenicia Cigar stands as one of the most coveted Habanos S.A. regional edition cigars of 2018. Originally released for the Middle Eastern and African markets by Phoenicia Trading, this limited-edition Diplomáticos Ammunition has quickly become a legendary collector's piece. If you want to experience the peak of modern Cuban craftsmanship, comparing the complex Diplomaticos Ammunition vs Reserva releases shows just how unique this particular blend truly is. Meanwhile, seasoned collectors frequently hunt for the Diplomaticos Ex Phoenicia regional treasures because they offer an exclusive smoking experience that generic production vitolas simply cannot match.

What Makes This Cigar Special

Inspired by the thrill, challenge, and determination shared by hunters and poker players, this blend represents absolute dedication to success. Habanos S.A. limited this regional release to just 10,000 numbered boxes. Because there are only 10 cigars in each box, global availability remains incredibly low.

Construction and Appearance

Handmade in Cuba using the finest long-filler tobacco from the world-renowned Vuelta Abajo region, this cigar utilizes the majestic Geniales vitola. It measures 150mm in length with a heavy 54 ring gauge. The wrapper sports a gorgeous, oily, Colorado-marron shade with minimal veins. It feels firmly packed, showing off the exceptional rolling skills of Cuba's finest torcedores.

Aroma, Draw and Burn

Before lighting, the foot releases a captivating aroma of sweet cedar, barnyard, and rich baking spices. The cold draw provides just the right amount of resistance, which is typical for a well-constructed Geniales format. Once lit, the cigar burns evenly, producing a razor-sharp burn line and thick, pillowy clouds of smoke with a beautiful white ash.

Flavour and Tasting Experience

The taste profile starts with a classic medium-bodied Cuban wave of rich earth, toasted nuts, and a unique sourdough note. As you smoke through the second third, the strength builds firmly into medium-full territory. Dark espresso, heavy oak, and a delicate white pepper spice dominate the final third. Overall, the balance in the mouth is impeccable, making it a stellar choice for special anniversaries or milestone celebrations. For proper storage conditions, keep these cellared at 65% humidity to let the blend evolve beautifully over the next 3 to 5 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the current market price for a box of Diplomáticos Ammunition?

Originally released at an accessible regional price point, secondary market value has surged due to extreme scarcity. A full, sealed box of 10 currently commands anywhere from $600 to $900+ USD depending on the vendor's location, local tobacco taxes, and proof of proper humidification.

How do I verify if my box of Diplomáticos Ammunition is authentic?

Every legitimate box of Diplomáticos Ammunition is a numbered semi-boîte-nature box of 10. Check the Habanos barcode on the official Habanos verification website. Ensure the secondary regional band reads "Esclusivo Phoenicia" and matches the high-quality embossed gold printing of authentic Habanos packaging.

Does the Diplomáticos Ammunition require aging?

While incredible right now because it has already aged since its late 2018 release, this cigar has the robust blend and 54 ring gauge needed for long-term cellaring. If you have a box, smoking one now is highly rewarding, but letting the rest sit for another 3 to 5 years will beautifully round out the strength and amplify its sweet cedar undertones.
